Binibeca, located in the south-east of Menorca, is one of the island's most precious destinations, due to its quiet environment and beautiful scenery. With a charming white sand beach and high-quality amenities, it is an ideal destination for a relaxing family holiday. The buildings in Binibeca do not tend to be very high- there are very few apartment complexes in the area. Most of the buildings are villas or private houses which have been designed in the typically charming Menorcan style; their swimming pools are surrounded by well-kept Mediterranean gardens.

The rocky outcrops which extend to the beach are full of platforms and natural pools- perfect for sunbathing and snorkelling in the turquoise water, as they slowly caress the beach. Even the most reluctant bathers will find it hard to resist swimming in these waters.

BINIBECA BEACH is characterised by its fine golden sand and clear waters. It is one of the island's most beautiful beaches- ideal for families and very safe for children. With a sandy area of 400x40m, this beach has many amenities, including rental sun loungers and parasols. Here, you will also find "Los Bucaneros," a picturesque beach bar, which has been open for a long time. It is the ideal place where you can revitalise yourself with a simple meal, or battle against the heat with a cool beer.

One kilometre away from the beach, you will find the POBLADO DE PESCADORES DE BINIBECA VELL. This is one of the most charming and well-known spots in the island, containing small white houses, a tiny church, Moorish arches, narrow alleys and a harbour whose ships sway lazily in the water. Built at the beginning of the 70s, this tourist complex contains a mix of Arab and Mediterranean style buildings, similar to the traditional fishing harbours. Its irregularly shaped houses and maze of cobblestone streets turn it into a magical and enigmatic enclave, whose peacefulness is difficult to find in other places. A stroll through its nooks, contemplating the sunset after a day at the beach, is to experience an almost mystical sensation. The complex also has several supermarkets, ice cream shops, souvenir shops, restaurants, bars and play areas, offering many leisure choices to the vacationers of the area.

Some 300 meters from Binibeca, in the direction of Punta Prima, you will find CALA TORRET. This is a village located next to the sea, made up of apartments and houses in the style of typical fishing villages, with many amenities: a supermarket, a bakery, bars, many restaurants with large seafront terraces and exceptional views, as well as platforms for swimming in the sea. The charming pier is the perfect place for having a drink and listening to good music at dusk.

Amenities in the area

Binibeca provides our clients with everything that they need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, without the need for a car. There are various small well stocked supermarkets (with international papers/magazines) open every day of the week, restaurants with good fresh fish, tapas and daily menus as well as quiet and peaceful bars. A tourist train runs through the most attractive areas between Binibeca and Punta Prima. There is also a bus service to Sant Lluis and Mahón. Other amenities available in the area include: a cash machine, car and bicycle rental, a diving club and boat excursions.

The nearby beach of Punta Prima (8 minutes away by car) has many restaurants and shops. The town of Saint Lluis is located the same distance away, and it is the commercial and administrative heart of the area, with many amenities including: banks, cash machines, a petrol station, supermarkets, shops, a pharmacy, medical consultation services, a hairdresser, an equestrian and tennis club, wineries, bars and cafes, as well as some of the island's best restaurants. If you are planning on a long stay, and would like a larger selection of high quality, local products, there are several large supermarkets around Sant Lluis and Mahón.
